After watching the videos on both of them out of high school I think Scott is the better of them. Granted it was in the 90s but I played high school ball in Hawaii and Louisiana, and I can tell you the level of competition between them was pretty large. I know I'm no recruiting guru, but I feel the Tua offer was bc of star ratings, and the potential hire at OC.

Just my thoughts. Blast away if you want.

You prolly somewhat right. Tua overblown bc of Hawaii competition.

You should email Ponamsky and ask if a "biohzrd's recruiting analysis" section can be added to the binder

Tua murdered competition at "The Opening". So there is that.

I have heard nothing but raves on how good Scott is "from people who would know" and that he was the steal of the class. I hope we get to see what he is about but I fear that will not happen.

With all the message board hype hopefully Scott doesn't become the next Richard Murphy.

Scott murdered competition for years in games against some of the best teams in the state. Jennings did great in the elite 11. Booty was the top QB prospect in the nation when he came out. Just saying lately there is more reguards given to star ratings.

Tua is close to Kiffin and was recruited by him for years. He'll only come to LSU if Kiffin becomes OC at LSU. He'll follow Kiffin if he goes anywhere like LSU.

Jeff Luc and Sam McGuffie looked like HOFers in their HS videos.

Tua's rated where he is because he tore up the Opening. He won the Elite 11 MVP.

St Louis was pretty ridiculous from like the late 80s-90s but the level of competition is probably nowhere near Louisisana.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you have a redshirt freshman in Scott, that when he signed, everyone on this board was saying he was way under rated, and was the steal of the year. I saw him in person, and can say he was everything he was hyped up to be.
That being said why offer Tua with the possibility of losing Brennan who I think has tons of upside.

7 on 7 is not real football. How does he perform with a 290 pound defensive end chasing after him? Devin White running through the hole on a blitz? Sure, it's a decent indicator, but put him in an environment where you're possibly going to get blasted and things change a lot.

St. Louis, Kamahama, and Punaho where the big dogs when I was playing there. They all recruited which was known, and picked and choosed what kids they wanted. I was at Millilani. It was mostly military brats with some locals so we were always able to compete with them.

Yeah just looked it up to refresh my memory, St Louis won the state title from 86-99 and had a 55 game winning streak from 85-90. Pretty impressive run.

It's simple really. If you want to be the best, go after the best. Besides Brennan didn't decommit because of the Tua offer. He decommitted because he believes its a sign of the intention to run an offense that doesn't suit him....and that very well may be true. I, for one, would love to see what Scott can do in a year or 2. He was an amazing high school talent

Sam McGuffie

Those highlight videos were amazing, did he end up a Texas Tech after Michigan?

Also Sam was about 5'9, so it not shocking he had some issues at the next level.
