Heard them talking about it on Fox news radio. They said "if confronted by the shooter, fight the best way you know how". I really can't argue with that.

Students shouldn't be having to fight. Where are the cops posted on campus? They should be on scene within 1 minute of hearing shots echo across campus
If you are a campus cop with a weapon waiting for backup outside of a building where shots are being fired you need to face jail time. Students aren't armed, and aren't being paid to be an armed guard. Get your arse and your pistol to the scene.
Imagine the feeling of having to throws chairs at a shooter while someone with a weapon who is literally paid to sit around incase this happens is no where to be found
Edit: if after initial shots the shooter went into hiding then obviously no officers are at fault here.

If there's no other choice, rush the shooter. Use a fire extinguisher to blind, hit. Hairspray & cigarette lighter makes a nice torch.
