For some football fans, Coach “O” might come across as unconventional. He is not slick with his words and many say he is too emotional and too tough on student athletes. He is also someone with a checkered head coaching career, but in south Louisiana he is one of us.
He is a bayou guy who beat personal issues and the long odds to become a Division I head coach from the state of Louisiana. The same state that per capita has put more players in the NFL than any other state in seven of the last 10 years and that has a very short list of major college head coaches and zero in the NFL

LSU went 5-2 under Orgeron with losses to the two teams in Alabama and Florida that will play in the SEC Championship game.

For folks that say they have hired a retread head coach I wonder how they felt when Bill Belichick took over the New England Patriots after he was fired by the Cleveland Browns. Belichick is now regarded as the greatest NFL coach of our lifetime. He has led the Patriots in the post-free agency world to six Super Bowls and won four Super Bowl titles.
Pete Carroll, who Orgeron worked for at USC, was fired twice in the NFL by the Patriots and the New York Jets. He was the fourth choice for the head coaching spot at USC in 2001.
All Carroll did was go 83-19 at USC and won two national championships before going on to coach the Seattle Seahawks.
its really sad

Did they really compare the hiring of O to the hiring of Belichick and Carroll? My god...
