Most lower bowls it actually costs the school money to play when it's all said and done. They would actually save money by not playing.
Not to say I think they turn one down for any circumstance whatsoever. The practices are too valuable. But you'd be surprised how little schools actually get when it's all said and done.

LSU isn't going to turn down a freaking bowl game. So tired of people asking/saying this crap..
