I will not fault the Texans for drafting Clowney. It looked like the right pick at the time.

In 2006 everyone flipped shite for drafting Mario Williams over Reggie Bush. It was the right call

I agree that Clowney over Mack wasn't the worst part of that draft. In hindsight Mack would have been the better pick, but at the time Clowney seemed to have the most upside. Now that Clowney is healthy he is starting to shape up to be an above average starter finally.

Drafting Sua'filo in the second round over Carr absolutely was atrocious however.

No.it was not. Damn near every SEC fan knew Clowney would be a bust. Dude has no work ethic.

It was just another example of an NFL team falling in love with measurable and ignoring the red flags. Spurrier even called him out to the media his junior year.
