Strong's job status has been "questionable" for quite a while. The loss to Kansas just confirmed that a change must be made.
Mike Perrin is strictly an interim Athletic Director. He's hesitant to pull the trigger early considering UT's potentially last game is merely four days away on Friday (we're currently 5-6 and not bowl eligible).
Strong will be told that the TCU game will be his last as head coach whether we beat TCU and become bowl eligible or not. We'll make our announcement that Herman is the next head coach for the University of TEXAS shortly after that.
Texas is wrapping it all up this week and ironing out the small wrinkles. Texas is dotting the i's and crossing the t's.
