Another thing I was a little upset with was how incompetent Goldstein was. I mean, our main vision of what an Auror is was Madeye. Her being an Auror kind of shits on the skill it took to be one.

Eh, I didn't mind it. I liked her character overall. I was surprised at how powerful Newt was. He was kicked out of Hogwarts, but yet he could apparate very quickly and use non-verbal spells with ease.

Well one studied at Hogwarts, the other didn't.

I took it as Goldstein was young and idealistic. She was very ambitious which is one reason she lost her job initially. She seemed plenty powerful but really didn't duel much, small sample size.

Newt was great. Redmayne is a great actor. The creatures were presented beautifully.
I agree Depp will make a great Grundewald but he will need to flesh out the character more.
