The idea that Coach O loves LSU, is it true?

First of all, he had a few opportunities to come here before. The real question is, if he really loves LSU, wouldn't he stay and help us build a juggernaut, no matter what coach is chosen to be HC? He would be well compensated, more than 95% of other jobs he could land.

So, does he love LSU that much? How much of all that talk is just talk to butter up the fans, and land the job?

It's going to be a sight to see when all the cajun tears coming flowing after O bolts after we make a hire. I hope he doesn't, but the dumb irrational coonasses are kidding themselves if they don't think Orgeron is on a flight if he's given the keys to another program

Prepare yourself to see a lot of "How could we do this to O????? He was one of us and bleed P&G!!!"

If he loved LSU so much, he would have come to LSU instead of going to Tennessee with kiffin. Miles offered him the DL position and he turned it down.

The O going to bama for revenge is funny as frick. Saban didn't need O to recruit D linemen to manhandle our O line the past few years.

I don't think he bleeds purple and gold like he says he does, but the dumbasses down here believe it. They will see him take his ball and go home if he isn't given the job.

Same as at SC. Instead of taking a lesser HC position or even a coordinator position to build up his resume, he takes 2 years off.

Of coarse he loves LSU at the moment, but he'll be all butthurt like a 10 year old girl when he doesn't get the job.

I don't know what the man is thinking but I do know that if I was basically given the keys to the family business then had then taken and given to someone else and asked to take on a lower roll.

I'd likely be gone too.

I love Coach O, but to be fair he talked about how much he loved USC when he was the interim coach there as well... then he left.

I cannot believe that so many people are buying into this "People's Coach" BS being spewed by Finebaum and ESPN.

Holy hell these idiots are the same ones that bashed the shite out of ESPN for ruining the plan to get rid of Miles last year, now they are eating it up buying into a guy that literally would not even get an interview at any other SEC school, probably not even any other P5 school.

I get that fit is important. It is the only possible reason that O is even is the conversation. But the LSU admin had better fricking do their due diligence and vet interest from at least a bakers dozen of other top candidates before they would even consider just handing the job to O if Jimbo says no.

You can't make this be a two horse race. It would be absolute negligence and breach of duty by Alleva if he does that. Although given his history it wouldn't surprise me a bit.

The only reason such a move would be made would be to try and hire on the cheap and this is simply too important to cut corners here.

If other coaches decline or demand too much or you feel they aren't the right fit after an interview, the way Skip felt about Petrino in 05, then it's great to have O as a last resort.

But you cannot make this a two person race. Period.

USC was his dream job when he was their Interim coach.
