If an Ogeron led Tiger team makes it to the Sugar Bowl-he may want to place a call to former Tulane athletic director Sandy Barbour about making the "cosmetic hire". After Tulane's undefeated season under Tommy Bowden and Rich Rodriguez as his highly successful OC, Barbour ignored calls to promote Rich Rod as HC-even after Bowden said his success was attributed to Rodriguez's offensive plan-and hired Georgia OC Chris Selfo....she was run out of town..and Tulane's football program NEVER recovered. Rich Rod was an offensive innovator-great recruiter, and wanted the job.

Well O has two out of three going for him.

Terrible comparison. Tulane's undefeated season was an anomaly for the program. Also, Rich Rod had never been a HC before that point. To compare this situation to the Ed Orgeron just doesn't work.

Did Miles attribute his success to the D-line coach who was there for 2 of the worst years of his tenure?

Alleva wants jimbo and has wanted jimbo. O is making things tough on him. If O wins out its those two and that's it. If jimbo doesn't accept O gets the job. Or if alleva feels O has done enough then he pulls the plug on jimbo talks and goes with O. I'm sure feelers have been sent out just in case O loses but it's looking like he won't which imo eliminates everyone but jimbo.

Well, at least you're not trying to compare O to Bill B and Pete Carroll like some have attempted to do. I give you credit for that.

1. I would say that Aranda is more like Rich Rod in this situation.

2. Rich Rod has been a traveling coach for years. Had some success at West Virginia but since then has been mediocre to bad.

If this were the Tulane job in question I could understand it.
