I'm not sure if this is the place to be asking but what apartments are considered to be the best around LSU. Most places I've looked up have absolutely terrible reviews and I wanted to get yalls opinion on the matter.

What's your budget?

I'm living in Campus Crossing at brightside it's a dump but cheap.

The exchange, wildwoods, the cottages, and arlington are all nice.
Really just depends on how much you wanna spend.

Are you a male or female?

Your answer determines mine.

The best/ nicest apartments for the price are going to be privately owned luxury apartments. They are still going to be pretty expensive though.

the 333 lofts GreatLakes spoke of have some 3 bdrm condos for 1800 total. not bad for 3 story luxury condos with wood floors and granite countertops.

If you are looking for something cheaper/single bedroom check out arlington/wildwood i've been to both. They are pretty nice considereing. So is the standard on Burbank next to taco bell.

Also Park Place is the new set of apartments going up on dodson between east boyd and west parker. These are going to be similar to the standard (rented out by the bedroom at about 600-700/month)

I lived in Highland Village 2 almost all of college. It was great. Decent place, gated, could walk to class/the game, right next to shops and a couple restaurants, far enough from Alvin dark, etc.

Whatever you do, start actively looking now. Get on wait lists. The market is still a mess thanks to the flood.

My experience from back in college is that management at the student-centered apartments really isn't inclined to work with you. They know that most students have no real bargaining power, and can quickly fill your vacant spot if you choose to leave.

Couple that with a clientele that likely doesn't understand the terms of their contract, they can just be very tough to deal with when things aren't going in your favor.
