I listed our O line recruits going back to 2013, as no one from the 2012 class is still on the team. This is per Dandy Don's site. Only one true center, although I think Clapp played Center at Brother Martin. Not many Tackles...seems to fall in place in what I thought the issues were. No true center, so Pocic played there, and not a lot of Tackles. Too many guards recruited. There are the problems. Seems 2013 and 2014 are the main problem years. 2015 and 2016 look promising.

2013
Josh Boutte-OL
Andy Dodd-OG/C
Fehoko Fanaika-OL
Karl Malone Jr.-OL
Ethan Pocic-OL

2014-only three o lineman and one was a juco
Garrett Brumfield-OG
William Clapp-OL
Jevonte Domond-OL-no longer on team

2015
George Brown-OT-no longer on team
Adrian McGee-OG
Hanner Shipley-OL-no longer on team
Maea Teuhema-OG
Chidi Valentine-Okeke-OT
Toby Weathersby-OT

2016
Willie Allen-OT
Donavaughn Campbell-OG
Lloyd Cushenberry-OL
Jakori Savage-OT

2017
Saahdiq Charles-OG
Austin Deculus-OL
Edward Ingram-OG
Seth Stewart-OL

I think Deculus and Stewart project at OT with Deculus being 6'6" 323 and Stewart being 6'8" 320.

Fire away on your thoughts.

I'm not bashing your opinion. It's clear that the team lacks experienced true offensive tackles. What I want to do is shed a little more light on the subject.

I started to do a similar chart a few days ago but didn't have time. What I was going to do differently was add a look at tackles that were actually available in Louisiana in the same time period. I didn't do all the research, nor do I have anything in front of me as I write, so this could be incomplete or inaccurate.

I know of only three reasonably-rated tackles from Louisiana since 2013 who didn't sign with LSU.

Robinson was never coming to LSU. The staff tried hard, and got him for a visit or two, but his mind was pretty well made up. His going to 'Bama probably figured into Stud's dismissal.

Jerry Tillery - 4-star - 2015 - committed to Notre Dame in 2013. The staff tried as hard as they could to get him to LSU, and he appeared to have been flirting with the idea, but he wound up going to his life-long dream school - where he is now playing DEFENSE.

Garrett Thomas - 3-star - 2015 - went to Texas, where he isn't listed in their 3-deep depth chart.

So, since 2014, LSU missed on two outstanding Louisiana tackles they really never had a chance at, and let a 3-star go that they didn't want. They've signed the only other 4-star from La. in the same time period, and signed two 4-stars and two 3-stars from out of state.

Considering how few home-grown tackles were available, I have to think that's actually pretty good.

Again, not bashing the OP, but it's real easy to point out that LSU has a weakness at tackle and blame Miles for it - JIMMY - but maybe the knee-jerk dogpile bunch should be intellectually honest enough to point out just where else they were supposed to look.

Just housekeeping here. He was a JUCO and graduated LSU or expended his eligibility anyway. Your listing looks like he was a waste/bust. He actually played a lot of guard at LSU while he was here and helped bring in Maea Teuhema.
