Just finished a campus tour of LSU with my son who is a HS senior (17). It was awesome showing him around his parents' Alma Mater. The dorms have changed a lot and the new rec center with the soon to come "Leisure Pool" (because Tigers aren't lazy) is ridiculous.

Visiting ULaLa tomorrow to give him a comparison and staying in Lafayette. Where is a fun place to eat tonight? (Comparison Chimes, Sammie's, Walk-ons). Something decent to give him a taste of the town. Wouldn't mind going downtown or around campus. And should I need to change out of my LSU gear before I go?

Since you are new to TD. Look to the left at that large purple listing of Message Boards.

There you will see one that says Food and Drink Board. On that board you will get some legit responses and not responses from the OT that may send you to a place where you will get stabbed.

Lsu gear is fine. Lots of restaurants to eat at, nothing very close to campus though. Maybe hit up ole time grocery for a po boy for lunch tomorrow though.

You can wear your LSU gear here, they do have some people around here with little brother syndrome, but for the most part it's fine.

There's a walkons here on the corner of ambassador caffery and kaliste saloom. Plenty of other places to go though, Blue Dog Cafe is near campus, lil more quaint. Downtown has some good eating too. Don's is down there, Pamplanos is epic but more date night eatery.

Depends, do you have a combination of the following decals on your ride:

Salt life
Yeti
Guy Harvey
Oil field trash spending oil field cash
Oil field honey spending oil field money
Sportsman's Fleur-de-lis

Tsunami is downtown. Thursday's usually has arse as the night progresses. Office bar and Marley s close by. (start kicking around 1030)

Johnston runs by campus and is littered with good restaurants as you drive south. Lafonda, social. Both good Thurs night

Tap room in River Ranch.

UBER is rock solid and fast in Lafayette. Don't drive

Pamplona's is one of the best restaurants in Lafayette, and is downtown. Excellent bar, and you can try a little or a lot, because it is tapas. They have full entrees, too, but you can taste a lot going the tapas route.

Old Tyne grocery would be the local campus pick. LSU gear isn't super out of place, but you may want to consider other wardrobe options

Hell no. If somebody makes eye contact for too long, kick 'em in the nuts.
