Figured this deserved it's own thread. Listening to Sherman after the game talk about the kicker play, the guy is disgusting. I understand being a competitor but this guy shows no remorse for taking that play way too far.

This shows Sherman absolutely leveling a Bills WR on the final play of the game with a ref literally looking right at him. No call.

ETA: People are commenting that tyrod was out of the pocket and this was a legal play, I'd have to see the entire field view to agree or disagree.

Sherman should have been ejected, forced to sit out multiple games, and heavily fined for targeting the Bills' kicker.

NFL should have a rule that if you make a dirty hit on someone and they are hurt, you sit out as long as they do with no pay and no team contact.

Yeah, for all the fake "player safety" and "defenseless player" talk the NFL does what a happened last night with this play and the end of the half is pretty hilarious.

Out of the pocket means nothing, otherwise everytime there is a deliberate rollout you can just destroy the receivers. His holding arse got burned on the long 3rd down.

It was borderline out of the pocket.

However, that is just for the illegal contact flag. You could make a pretty good argument that it's a personal foul for going hard and high away from the play like that. This isn't a case where he put his hands on him to knock him off a route.

So if the QB is outside of the pocket every defender can tackle all the receivers with no penalty?

Sherman thought he had the ball and the whistle hadn't been blown yet, I see nothing wrong with that play.
