I believe he's not the kind of coach who needs his staff picked for him. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Herman's background or the Houston program, but he's doing a lot of really good things that, as a fan, I'd feel confident saying he will be very successful.

3 of the last 4 coaches at Houston was very successful (only one who wasn't was a ST coordinator and he even had a winning record). It's not like he had to build from the ground up. He added personality and energy to the program and took a WR and made him a QB to run RPOs and improvise with his feet.

I'm not saying he sucks. I'm just saying let's not exalt him as the one true savior of LSU footballl. A number of candidates could be viable and there is pros and cons with each

The man made Alabama's lane kiffin his bitch and our defense has been lights out all year. Is hiring tom Herman and getting another new DC better than retaining O and Aranda?

I think hiring Herman is how you lock down Aranda. Their previous stint together will play into this more than most people want to believe.

Aranda without Herman>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Herman without Aranda.

literally nothing but your gut feeling points to this. Herman went 13-1 and won an access bowl against Florida State last year as a head coach. Aranda has never been a head coach.
