They should cut the weeks crap out anyway, an employer doesn't give anyone two weeks when they lay you off.

I got paid the 3 weeks of vacation I was owed and the week of sick leave. Isn't there a law they have to pay you for earned vacation?

Thought so. No way they would pay it if they didn't have to do it.

They treated me like shite after I gave notice.

But they always treated me like shite. It was just worse for those 2 weeks.

Has anyone else felt a little awkward at work after giving notice of resignation and your actual last day of work?

Yes. My last co. was downsizing, and I always made the cut. The ones remaining generally had a lot of sonority, so they were shitty anyways to the younger analysts. They thought it was a dick move to eventually turn in my resignation since I was saved the cut so many times and their peers were let go. That couple weeks was awkward.

I think he's going in-house somewhere, if I recall correctly.

Just gave notice and I can already feel a difference.

Generally speaking a company should shite can you the day you give notice...well, depending on what you do for them

You must be likable, trustworthy or valuable. Otherwise you'd get tossed if you gave me notice. That's pretty much standard behavior for most places.

But back to your question. The last time I made a move I felt awkward for the 2 weeks. It's the end it should feel different. You're moving on.

Yep. Going in house with a large financial institution. Basically doing what I am doing now, but no drafting and not giving any legal advice.

Did you find something? Forgot to email you, no one returned my email requests.

How does that work for 100% commission employees?

That's awesome, man. Congrats. You'd make everyone on R/lawyers jealous.

I'm at a large financial company right now doing compliance stuff. Pays well. Still looking in the EP field. I've learned Id prefer not working in the corporate world unless it's an in house gig

Mortgage...trid/respa/til. Also have experience doing compliance work on muni bonds. Corporate gigs just don't pay well past a certain point unless you get an in house gig or you can climb the ladder (playing the politics game).

That one's good, but it's also important to describe your place of employment as a "used rubber" while threatening the life of your boss and securing a date with the secretary before storming out.

Joe quits

It just takes some time. New Jersey is phasing out its state estate tax. Going to crunch a few EP attorneys up here.

Do you accrue paid vacation time where you work? That is, do you get paid vacation? If so, it must be paid out to you when you leave your employer in Louisiana.

At my last company, once I gave notice, they just stopped inviting me to strategy meetings, and I was basically a dead man walking. Nobody asked me to do anything and I was basically getting paid for nothing. Pretty sweet actually. My last day I was literally on TigerDroppings all day.
