what do you guys think of Dalvin Cook? Fournette is a beast and I have no confidence that Payton would use him right, but Dalvin is perfect built for this offense IMO. If there isn't a great defensive player to be had at the Saints pick, would y'all be against Cook?

I'm against any and all RBs in the 1st or 2nd or even 3rd for that matter. Need to fix defense and line first. McCaffrey would be the best in a Payton offense out of them all but he'll go to New England and be a star.

News flash.
We're not even halfway through the season.

If you're thinking about drafting for the majority of the season this year, you'll do the same next year...with the players you were happy they drafted.

Fournette is the only RB that's going in the 1st round and as much as I would love to have him, I can't see the Saints using a 1st on an RB when we have so many other weaknesses. Dalvin Cook is good, but he's started since a Freshman and has a lot of miles on him. We can get the same value in the 4th, but i'd even say that's too early given the help we need on the OL, DL, LB, and Secondary.

Fournette is the obvious jewel of the upcoming draft at the running back position but I don't think many people realize just how deep this RB class maybe. 2017 will be the draft of the RB if all the top underclassmen come out. Fournette, Dalvin Cook FSU, Nick Chubb UGA, Christian McCaffrey Stanford, Royce Freeman Oregon, James Connor Pitt, Joe Mixon/Samaje Perine Oklahoma, Elijah Hood UNC, Wayne Gallman Clemson.

That list doesn't even include the nation's leading rusher DJ Pumphrey (San Diego St) who is a smaller scat back type (5'9 180) & an excellent receiver who you can put in the slot or line him up out wide.

Personally, I think Nick Chubb is the best fit of them all in the Saints offense. He is a stronger, faster version of PT. Great between the tackles, great in the screen game & very solid in pass pro. He doesn't have Fournette's size but pound for pound he is probably the strongest weight room wise of this entire group of backs.

If pass rusher is the direction the team goes, there should be one available. We may not end up being in range for Myles Garrett but Derek Barnett & Carl Lawson could be there around where the Saints will pick.

I actually wouldn't mind another RB but only if we cut Ingram. No one is scared of him. If we actually had a Tevin Coleman or Devonta Freeman it would bring another demension to our offense and practically make us unstoppable
