Doldil is right on time with his advice. Screw the lean meats.. tons of water, green veggies ( avoid carrots, especially cauliflower). Make coconut oil your go to for cooking, put it in your coffee if you drink it. Could take awhile to get into ketosis. Know if you have a cheat day after achieving ketosis, expect a 5-8 lb weight water gain until your kidneys can dump it. Unsweetened tea, water. You may be one of the fortunate ones that can drink diet sodas and achieve ketosis.. I was not one of them. It's easy to follow if you just push away the bread, pasta, rice. Naked wings, steak, Ground beef. I'll snack on nuts, protein bars from Costco ( watch the carbs in some of these). Good luck.

But what does this mean for after the diet?

I lose 20 pounds, go back to eating a balanced diet with less calories, I gain 10 pounds back of water weight?

How do different grains like quinoa and cous cous fit in this? I'm about to have surgery that's gonna put me outta commission for a bit. I'm borderline fat for me already (6'0" 207). Don't need to balloon into the 220s.
