If he wins out, the job is his. And I hope he wins out.
He's not the same coach he was at ole miss. The guy has changed. Personally, I'd wait too the end of the season to make this call

No one cares about what a Bama fan says, but to me just them talking about Coach O says to me that Bama fans are very concerned about the game in Death Valley. We have every advantage. The biggest advantage is the size of Bama's fans, players and coaches egos.

That's kind of where I'm at. I can't point to anything CEO has done fundamentally wrong. That has two caveats:
1. We don't see everything, but we've been informed of some (e.g. changes in practice routine)
2. It is much easier to see what the other guy is doing and fix/improve than to self-evaluate or create.

So yeah, wait and see. Lets get more data on "this version" of CEO.

One thing that annoys me, mainly talking to other LSU fans IRL, is that most/many/all want that slam dunk hire. IF that slam dunk isn't there, CEO is the best option because when the slam dunk becomes available you can make that move easier. Not saying he's the best coach, not saying he's the 10yr coach. Just saying if the right guy isn't there (Herman/Jimbo/etc) don't get a next tier (Fedora/Morris/etc) and be stuck with him. At least you keep the recruiting going for the most part.

That's not an ideal strategy, but a realistic one depending on who's out there and how the negotiations go. The 'market' may not be ideal if USC and UTx are looking for coaches too. You don't have to make that '10yr hire' this year. But you have to be in a contract/political position to do it when the opportunity does exist.

This is not the same team under Miles, it is much better and they are playing with fire, especially that Defense!!

However, the offense is light years better and keeping the defense fresher.

Coach O and his delegation, cutting back on practice time, telling it like it is in press conferences, and letting the coaches coach is paying dividends, and he and Ensminger's offensive strategy is paying huge dividends.

What is nice to know is that he WILL PLAY TO WIN against Bama
