Exhibit A: William H Macy

I wouldn't say he's bumbling in Sahara or Thank You For Smoking.

Leslie Nielsen was known for his serious, even dark roles as an actor.
Then Airplane.
Then Airplane.

But do you think that she is really acting? That's how she portrays herself outside of tv and film.

Mark Hamill twice over. First with Luke Skywalker in live action movies, and then as the Joker in animation. Granted he still got good roles in animation, but nearly all of them villainous and sinister.

She wasn't that in her two episode appearance on "Star Trek Voyager."
Seann William Scott definitely got typecast as the crazy guy.

I used to think the same, but I know people that have met her in real life and have nothing but good things to say about her

im actually pretty surprised that Chris Pratt was able to overcome the character of Andy from P&R and deliver his roles on Guardians and Jurassic World. thought for sure he'd be type casted for the dumb funny guy forever. he still throws in his comedy persona though in all his roles.

He was one of the SEALs in "Zero Dark Thirty," wasn't he? So, he sort of already had a "badass" role out there before those movies. Granted, he was still kind of funny and silly in "Guardians..."
