Unfortunately, Mark Hamill, an extremely talented individual.

im actually pretty surprised that Chris Pratt was able to overcome the character of Andy from P&R and deliver his roles on Guardians and Jurassic World. thought for sure he'd be type casted for the dumb funny guy forever. he still throws in his comedy persona though in all his roles

I think his little turn in Zero Dark Thirty helped to start turning his image into a guy who could possibly play a lead. He was good in that.

Frank Gallagher is a piece of shite person, father, friend, anything. I wouldn't say he's bumbling though

Meh...their physical appearances type cast them. They were never going to be anything other than what they are. In fact, if they were less goofy looking they probably wouldnt be actors at all.

Him being a big, muscular, decent looking, alpha male looking guy helped with that as well.

Morgan Freeman

Well it's probably just his voice and overly calm nature that caused it, not just 1 role he took

For the most part, Jeff Bridges has been a different actor since The Big Lebowski.

I would add his role in Moneyball to this.

The Tony Robbins line in Zero Dark Thirty saw spot-on.

Kyle Chandler has done a bunch I haven't seen that may be very dynamic, but this cracked me up and I posted it in the wtf thread a while back. I'm not sure when he chose this hairstyle and a job in the public sector but...

Here he is as a weary, sidewall-haircut government suit in Argo.

Suit. Weary. Government. Zero Dark Thirty.

Day the Earth Stood Still weary and government.

*ETA Super 8. No suit, but still pretty government and weary.

Yeah, Kyle Chandler is an obvious one. After seeing that montage, I want to go back and check the credits for Iron Man. I mean, he's probably one of the SHIELD agents backing up Coulson. If not, we know he'll be in the reboot.

He wasn't always the chiseled, leading man-type, though. That says "depth" to me.

I was going to say Sean Astin (Rudy) but was surprised to see that he has been in a lot of dogshit B movies as something else than the lovable try-hard.
