This is not a Coaching Changes thread. I am not advocating anyone be hired or not hired.

I have read disparaging comments about Steve Ensminger on this board for years. I think LSU fans are now seeing that this guy is a very good offensive mind.

I remember when he was coaching Eric Zeir at Georgia and leading them to a 10 win season in 1992 and led the SEC in offense and scoring. He was a young hotshot guy at that time that we, as struggling LSU fans with Hallman as our coach, hoped would someday come home and coach the Tigers.

He then went to Texas A&M and Clemson as offensive coordinator where he had some excellent numbers.

I'm sure he will make some mistakes as he hasn't been a primary play-caller in a long time, but this guy knows how to call a game and has done it at the highest levels. Orgeron didn't hesitate to turn over full control on the offense to him.

I'm excited to see what he can do. Regardless, I would not be surprised to see him as an offensive coordinator somewhere next year.

Besides that First Drive I was pleased with the calls. With a Smart, Poised Quarterback like Etling making the right reads, sliding in the pocket and throwing it away when needed this Offense can move the ball at will. Happy for Coach E making the most of his opportunity.

Look im no negative nancy but lets see what happens in the next 4 games before we make coach O the head coach and Ensminger the O/c. lot of football still to be played.

He may not want the OC position long-term.

I think he's said that he's very happy as an highly paid assistant coach. I could see him going back to coach TE's.

He's not world breaking as many people believe. He runs a very average offense! This is what I've been saying, We are so talented that even with an AVERAGE offense, we can dominate. this is more on how Miles just wasted talent and wasn't even capable of running an average offense.

My comment below is also not talking about what is going to happen beyond this season:

I love this staff. I'm not saying keep or don't keep any single one of them...I'm just saying I'm having a blast since O and the crew have taken over. Led by O and Ensminger...2 Louisiana and LSU guys. Its fun.
