Rizzo has had some Bryant-level slumps and hot streaks all year. If he busts out of this before the post season ends, he'll start hitting. 450 with power immediately.

We need better AB's from Rizzo, Zobrist and Heyward.

Good luck with that.

Rizzo has just looked lost at the plate. I know you can't just pretend like you're in May instead of October during these intense games, but that seems like what he needs to do. They aren't going to let Bryant beat them tonight, so my guess is Rizzo is going to be in a clutch situation with runners on again.

I don't think he's lost, I think he's trying to do too much. He needs to let the pitches come to him. And stop hitting into the shift.

Am I overreacting in thinking that this is a must win tonight? I really don't want to go back to Chicago and see Cueto again.

Probably already posted, but damn did some people in Chicago watch that game last night. The game posted an 18.4, and was still at a 13.2 (457,000 homes) at 1:45 a.m.

Unfortunately, I was one of those 457k. Didn't really sleep after going to bed either.

Technically, yes. It is definitely a must win for one team...the Giants.

Me neither. Cueto could've easily had two Ws at Wrigley in the last month.

The way I look at it is we have to win 1 of 2 games to be started by Lackey and Lester, two of the best postseason pitchers of this era, with one of the best lineups and bullpens in baseball. That doesn't guarantee anything, but the Cubs are definitely set up to win this series after holding serve at home. Everyone chalked up game 3 as a win for the Giants with Bumgarner going; nothing has changed.

That's what I'm saying here what makes the Cubs special is their bats. Every postseason team has great pitching.... our bats can't fail us if we want the ultimate prize and they are letting us down.

It's also important because it would still allow Lester to start game 1 of the NLCS

Yeah I think Cueto's stuff probably plays a bit better the second time around on a short turnaround than Lester's does.

Need haircut boy to back up his bravado tonight. Geaux Lackey!!

This makes absolutely no sense.

FYI - Lester pitched against the Giants at Wrigley about a month ago and threw 8 innings and only gave up one run. He threw an 8 inning shutout this time around. If you're hitting your spots the number of times you have faced them isn't relevant.
