If this game gets cancelled I hope the hurricane blows Jeremy Foley's house onto Jim McElwain's house with both of them inside.

What I see on the NOAA NHC map is that the eye will be right by Jax at 8pm Friday as a Cat 4 with 140mph winds and 6-9ft storm surge. Horizontally, that is about 50 miles from Gainesville

The name of this thread is changing more than a damn game thread.

There's still projected 30mph winds and heavy rain
Weather channel says 10% chance of rain in Gainesville on Saturday. The worst part of the storm is going to be northeast of the eye.
I'm just saying.

LSU admin to the extent they can't finesse or force the issue
This is not an LSU Admin decision...its a FLORIDA HOME GAME. LSU Admin has no say what so ever in where or when the game is played. Has to be UF or SEC to make the call.
I am sure the LSU Admin is not this stupid...and if a Cat 4 Hurricane was anywhere near hitting Louisiana this game would have been moved to Gainsville Monday

just was told 5 minutes ago "game is 100% not at LSU. Not Sat or Sun"
Family member is an LSU official that would know.

a 12 hr power outage in and of itself would wreck the game. planning a game within 24 hours of a cat 4 storm passing within 50 miles of you is pretty much a shite show.

He also said what everyone on this board already assumes, they'd just rather not play.

From The 1:00 CDT update:
I sincerely hope that the entire state of Florida is spared from devastation. However the uncertainty of a forecast for a major storm and the devastation that the storm can do is well known. It is absolutely absurd for the University of Florida to attempt to have a football game with some many unknowns within 24 hours of scheduled game time.
From The 1:00 CDT update:

4. When a hurricane is forecast to take a track roughly parallel
to a coastline, as Matthew is forecast to do from Florida through
South Carolina, it becomes very difficult to specify impacts at
any one location. Only a small deviation of the track
to the left of the NHC forecast could bring the core of a major
hurricane onshore within the Hurricane Warning area in Florida and
Georgia. Modest deviations to the right could keep much of the
hurricane-force winds offshore. Similarly large variations in
impacts are possible in the Hurricane Watch and warning areas in
northeast Georgia and South Carolina.

For some reason I just feel like there's going to be a new venue thrown into the mix at 5.

Hell no....I think the game is already cancelled and has been since early today.
I just put 0, absolutely 0, weight in anyone's "family member" and their job at LSU from this website. It's not just you it's everybody here. I'd hope you feel the same about me if I made some cryptic prediction like that.

The game has been "canceled" since yesterday morning

Hurricanes are unpredictable and forecasts aren't that reliable. It could jog west and now they have hurricane winds and damage as opposed to ts wind. I know the fans don't want the game moved we wouldn't either. But the people in charge have to do the right thing just in case. The ONLY way to ensure people's safety AND make sure the game gets played was to move it. It's too late for that now. You know some things are more important than football. The safety of the fans and players should be the more important than FLA's desire to not lose a home game.
