I have been throwing a cast net for a few years now, but have never really made my own bait balls. I have thrown Rabbit pellets before. I have been reading and found that some use Fish meal and a clay mixture. What does everyone here have the best luck with?

Pogie meal mixed with flour and a little water to make it the consistency of dough. Roll it up in balls about the size of golf balls and throw all around where you're castnetting.

Some people buy alpo in a can, poke holes in it and throw it in the water. I never found that it helps that's much. I've had better luck throwing in current when the shrimp are moving at night.
