I am in the market for something for the man cave/basement. The room is 22x28. I have a bar in there, ping pong table and shuffleboard. The room has 4 windows so it does get light. I used to have an 55 inch plasma. My viewing distance is about 12-13 feet. I was thinking initially of going with a 75inch tv, but my last purchase was a plasma, so I am woefully out of date on what is in now.

Then I was thinking about going the projector route with a screen. The room is primarily used for sports and movies. I would say 60/40. Any advice is appreciated.

I put a 100" projection screen in my media room, and have not regretted it at all. It is not nearly as complicated as you would think. I have a 54" LED on the wall and if I want to watch a movie/game I can just lower the screen in front of the tv and turn on the projector. Very seamless and easy to do, and it's pretty impressive. My viewing distance ranges from 8-18 feet.

BenQ Projector - $799
Elite Screens 100" motorized screen - $215
Denon S910W - $579 handles sound, inputs, and has 2 outputs for TV and Projector

I never understood the allure of a projector. What's better about it than a good TV screen?
