Interesting convo on SiriusXMFC this morning. An English caller went nuts over this hire and said you gotta have someone with experience in England or real success in Europe. Charlie Stillitano made a great case that his last few stops have been excellent work and that at some point you have to let outsiders have a chance, especially a guy who has a life's worth of experience. Otherwise, it's a neverending cycle of inbred/retread coaches based on the misguided idea that you must hire people with experience in English football.

People keep saying this, but is it actually true? I mean good for him getting the job he can get, but I think people are massively overplaying his accomplishments because he's American. He didn't get Egypt to the World Cup. He didn't get Le Havre promoted, even though it was razor thin. A lot of coaches have almost gotten their clubs promoted. Stabaek qualifying for Europa League for first time may actually be biggest club accomplishment for him.

Agree that recycling the same crap coaches is a bad idea, and agree that outsiders eventually have to be given a chance...just saying I don't think he had some divine right to be the one.

I feel like the Bob Bradley train is sounding like the keep Ed Orgeron train.
