Same here. We were going to make the trip down, but they wanted me to work this weekend. After the Auburn game I agreed. Now I wish I had waited a day or two before deciding to work.

I don't expect the immediate shift to be seismic. Coach O has had a week.
However, I do expect to see a change in the game plan.

I don't either, but at least I'll give them a chance. Expecting the worse and hoping for the best. Just beat TAMU in November and I'm good.

It is not hard to figure out what CEO and Steve came up with
Cam had a 130 play plus play book - they took it and threw out 60% of it and CEO talked about that. You are going to see what the kids do well and you will see the pass set up the run as CEO has also talked about. You will see checks out of the run early and take the % play the D is giving you when they sell out to stop the run. common sense

Apparently the computers either.
They are picking Missouri to win by 17.
WTF?

We may not have a massive change in scheme, but I think we will have a release of energy from the players. Deep down, I'm sure they loved Les the man but realized they were being held back by the staff, especially on offense.
I think we see relief and new energy from the players this week. I expect us to blow out Missouri today.

LSU will show a real spread offense at times this game. Book it!

Yeah we win big today. Your coach gets fired, there is a little embarrassment there from the players. This team is better than their record and I think that shines through today.

What I do expect is that when we hit those low spots, series where the team seems to be going through the motions or a mistake was made then the coaches do something to jolt them. Maybe this fantastical magical spread people keep talking about (don't count on it), maybe a change of pace, something. I think that's one of the missing pieces under Miles. He seemed to have lost his feel for the mental state of the team (or whatever you wish to call it). Maybe that's enough to make the overall performance in a game look waaaaay different. I think it is.

Something another poster pointed out in another thread is bugging me, it's bugging me because he's right. I think it was Slackster....
IF the team is relying on energy and emotion, it could get ugly. He was specifically talking about game-to-game. But it applies to a single game too. IF that's what is happening today, and the team runs into that first setback or a couple of 3-n-outs does it all fall apart. It still has to be based on fundamentals, execution, and gameplan/adjustments. I guess something to watch for. In both directions... what do both the leaders on the team and the staff do when that first obstacle is run into.

O has seemingly made a point to do things completely opposite to the way Miles did them. At first I wasn't expecting much change on offense. After this week, I wouldn't be shocked to see LSU go HUNH right out of the gate.
O wants the permanent gig by showing he's NOT Miles.

I think the defense will continue to improve little by little.
Could the offense be any worse? Possibly, but I like the odds for them to improve.
The players should be jacked up and that should help.

What computers? Is this a line I can bet on somewhere? Vegas has LSU around -11.5

He simulated the game with imported rosters in NCAA 2014.

I agree that can happen, but other situations are no different than this one in terms of playing with emotion. Many times you'll see an underdog team come out the gates fired up and playing equal to a greater opponent. But also many times, that energy and fire begins to wane and they are overpowered. It's termed weathering the storm because energy is not a gameplan.
That said, IMO there is very little pressure on LSU tonight. The axe has fallen and fans aren't expecting miracles - especially being just 6 days removed from an 11-year coach. The players may feel some pressure, but I wouldn't put too much into it.
I expect LSU to come out with energy and fire, but also settle into the game and continue to play with intensity. Outcome aside, they'll see the fans are with them. I doubt you hear any play-calling, dissatisfaction booing tonight.

Same here. Expectations from many have been more than sky high. These are the same players and for the most part the same coaches. But changes are being made and I can't wait to see how this team responds.

What I was mentioning is almost a worst-case scenario. If that happens, the current staff is fricked.
If the opposite happens, every time there's "doldrums" there's an obvious positive reaction, then we know we have our team back and the sky is the limit.

Whatever happens, I'm expecting them to play hard.
