Call the dental school in NOLA. .It will take about a month to get in, first appt cost 150 but will be put towards the cost of services. If he has to be seen asap to get it pulled, I can get him in at the charity place. (Stacyotot at g.mail) They charge 50 to pull a tooth n will give him a referral to the dental school to do the other work. (Bro in law is an oral surgeon n just helped a friend get some work done)

I just asked him, he makes too much for Medicaid he says
Then he can afford to go to a dentist and pay $10 for an antibiotic to deal with the infection. He can't afford a root canal, but he could probably afford having the dentist pull his tooth if needed.

Medicaid only covers dental services for children and pregnant women. Your friend's best options are to find a dentist who will work with him on a payment plan, go to the dental school clinic, or go to a Federally Qualified Health Center. Those are medical homes which have multiple services, including dent, under one roof. Their goal is to increase access to care.
