Auburn coach Gus Malzahn named Sean White his starting quarterback for Saturday's game against LSU, but Malzahn is leaving open the possibility of playing two quarterbacks.

"Sean White is going to be our starter," Malzahn said during his news conference Tuesday, according to AL.com. "John Franklin (III) will be available if needed."

Through a 1-2 start, White has been the starter for the first three games of Auburn's season, but three quarterbacks have played thus far.

Franklin III, a junior college transfer, relieved White for the start of the fourth quarter of Saturday's 29-16 loss to Texas A&M, his most extensive outing of the season. Franklin completed 4-of-8 pass for 37 yards and ran for 59 yards on 9 carries.

White completed 18-of-27 for 126 yards. He was sacked three times.

"We feel like (White) gives us the best chance of winning," Malzahn said, according to 247Sports. "We have to be better around him. We have to put him in better situations from a coaches standpoint to help him."

Though White is a different style of quarterback that what Malzahn has had in the past, LSU coach Les Miles believes Malzahn's philosophy will be the same.

"I think the Auburn offense has a wide scope and I think what you will do is you will prepare for some of the things that some of these other quarterbacks that have come through have done and certainly the things that he's done this year are the kind of things that his players know," Miles said at his press luncheon Monday. "In other words, they prepared for three games, this style of offense, and these style of plays. And the experience is there."

While 99 percent of coaches would've said
"White presents some challenges that we have to prepare for, but we'll be ready"

Auburn will be the toughest challenge since Wisconsin. Their defense is more complete and if they can rattle Etling early, it could turn into a crapfest.

this is what most said about MSU, also. I think it is gonna be hard to rattle him. He prepares really well.

They are very good on defense. The offense is just offensive.

Auburn has a stout defense, we have a stout defense. That's a wash. We appear to be in better shape at QB now than Auburn. They probably have an edge in special teams. But we have LF and they do not. Coaching may be a wash as well. Miles is Miles and Gus coaches like he's drowning and gasping for air.

MF'ing this ^^^
I don't know if I've seen a player held so often as Key. It is almost like the refs think "if I call every hold this game will last an eternity"
