Lets start by breaking "DE16". Do you know how lame that sounds. Just call him Etling

That's up to the quarterback. If the TE's are not being targeted, it's on the quarterback. Conversely, i's to Etlings credit that the TE's have caught more passes.
I like the playcalling with Eitling under center.
Does anyone argue this? Why is this so hard a concept to maintain?

Amen to that.
This whole initials+number thing needs to die. It's so silly, but the teenagers on this board think it's cool.
Just type the damn name.

The main one is that usually on the road in sec play miles goes into a shell. He broke tendency last week so I hope same goes for this one. A lot of ppl think we are gonna just show up and crush aurburn but this has always been a tough rivalry game and Jordan hare is a difficult place to play.

We could continue to execute and attack when we have a lead. At JH we need to put them out of their misery and not let them hang around and gain confidence. A win by Auburn would reboot their season and crater ours. Time to play well for a whole game.

I agree with you completely. I think we had the right mindset last week we had 2 huge fumbles one was a bad call and some dumb penalties also including a bogus holding. But I think miles strategy and play calling was a big step in the right direction second half. The one major screwup however was at the end of the first half when we were driving easily for the score that would've put them away and he pulled a typical miles by callin run plays once we got close killed the drive settled for a fg and gave away the momentum. Those or the things that get you beat vs the good teams.

the things thrown out about him and the offense are comical. It is mostly just the result of a positive perception and seldom based in fact.
Same with negative comments. When we underperform folks post the most ridiculous comments about changing the offense, etc.

Etling has passed to the TE's 20% of his passes so far. That's double what Harris did last year and much more than any QB since Flynn
That's not true. DeSean broke a long one and the TEs account for 20% of his total yards, but he's not looking their way any more than Harris did.

I think it's that he's hitting the check downs more so we just perceive that the TE is more involved. I'm just happy that we are getting the ball to LF and Guice out of the backfield. Those guys should be good for 2 to 3 first downs a game catching the ball. Etling's strength seems to be progression to the open guy and that's all LSU needs. I think a lot of that has to do with his ability to read the defense presnap. He knows who his primary guy should be based on the defense he sees.

Oh I agree, I just find the TE stuff a bit comical because it is a perception that they're more involve when the reality is that he doesn't look their way anymore that the QB before him.
In limited action he does seem comfortable throwing it all over the place which is promising. I hope to continue to see strides going forward as he builds first team reps.

Perception will always be reality with LSU fans. Just look at the idiots that think Miles took his foot off the gas against MSU or the idiots that thought Miles wouldn't play freshman. Hell, if Etling has a bad quarter people will get on the rant that call for Lindsey Scott to burn his RS and play. These people see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. Facts be damned.

e need to break the tendency of not slamming the door shut on our opponents in the 2nd half.
That wouldve been broken this weekend if LF doesnt fumble twice. We did not take our foot off the gas last Saturday.

No matter how you slice it, we didn't put the game away when we had a chance. I never said we took our foot off the gas, I said we didn't slam the door shut.

Play with the intention of running at least 75-80 plays in the game. I don't care if we give them an extra few offensive series in the process. Don't be afraid to play aggressive offensive football for 60mins. Make an attempt to run 75-80 plays in the game. Enough with the slow paced, 50-65 offensive plays in a game approach.

You need to break the tendency to post shite here that is meaningless drivel.

Yeah because the best lsu rb ever uncharacteristically fumbled twice stopping 2 drives where were getting 7.1 ypp.
