Zone read with DE16?

Throw to the TE?

Double move by WR on the outside in man coverage?

As long as DE is able to spread the ball around it forces the defenses to cover all parts of the field and the offense becomes deadly.

LSU finally found a QB who knows TE's are eligible receivers. Matt Flynn was the last one to utilize a TE

Lets start by breaking "DE16". Do you know how lame that sounds. Just call him Etling FFS.

Already doing that.

We need to break the tendency of not slamming the door shut on our opponents in the 2nd half.

Only target the TE 2-3 times and increase it to 6-8

Utilization of slant routes to get Dural involved more. Flea flicker will be called at some point now that teams have to respect pass and rush.

Honestly, it's not the prettiest thing, yet, but Etling gives us the best option to score 20 points on BAMA in six years.

I like the playcalling with Eitling under center.

So maintain focus in the second half [ie, play 4 quarters with full intesity]. Do that, we win big.

I know what you mean. Harris targeted TEs 9.4% of the time in 2015. Etling has targeted them 9.1% thus far this season.

ETA: Harris completed 17/26 targets. Etling has completed 2/4 targets.

Targeting and actually completing the pass are 2 different things.

We completed one pass to the TE Saturday and one pass the game before. 2/4.

Harris completed 17/26 targets last year.

I know Etling has looked good, and I hope he keeps it up, but the things thrown out about him and the offense are comical. It is mostly just the result of a positive perception and seldom based in fact.

ETA: For instance, this morning someone said that a long pass to the TE was called back against MSU because of the Pocic penalty. It got 9 upvotes and it was completely wrong. The pass was to Dural.

Are you sure your numbers are right? Ching's article on ESPN said Etling has targeted the TE 11.6% compared to 10.4% of Harris last year.

ETA: Etling's percentage of total yardage thrown to TE is double what Harris was last season also.

Auburn sucks so bad, they don't have any tendencies. We'll somehow win by a FG.

I went through every game on the play by play. Regardless, the point remains that Etling has been essentially just as effective using the TE as Harris this year, but since he's new and the offense is flowing better people believe he's done significantly more.

Correct. It is buoyed by the 46 yard TD to DeSean and the drops that hurt his numbers against JSU.

I'll settle on LSU breaking the tendency of not scoring a bunch of points in the second half.
