Anyone ever made their own deer attractant blocks? How was the response from the deer? Have seen numerous videos on youtube. I was thinking getting an old crawfish pots and a burner, melting down some caramel candies, add lots of brown sugar, lots of Karo Syrup, kool aid, water or red drank. Add some deer corn, and oatmeal to thicken it up. Put into some plastic containers to harden and then put on ground like a Block. Similar to the Big and J block. Anyone ever tried? results?

Guaranteed to attract any hog within 30 miles...

It sounds fun, I know. But I've made a few. It is a royal pain in the arse. Cleanup is a bitch, and just comes out wayyyyy too much like work. Just buy some sweet feed from the feed store if you want to go the sweet route to attract deer.

I tried making a persimmon flavored block topper one time. When I got done I realized that there's a reason that there are people whose job is to formulate these sort of things.

They have the knowledge, equipment, and materials to do it right for a cheaper price. Just go buy a deer block.
