And? What's the problem? Look how much we're paying Les! Look at all the extensions, raises, offered incentives...we SHOULD be willing to spend Saban type money in order to get who we want. LSU Football is huge.

I still think Jimbo should be our primary target. The difference between he and Herman, to this point, is recruiting. I believe that we wouldn't miss a single beat in recruiting if Jimbo were brought in.

I'd take Herman in a heartbeat, too, of course.

Del Rio sounds decent...not totally against him, if we can't get either Jimbo or Herman.

Mascona is a moron. Dude talks so much shite about Miles then throws him softballs at Miles media sessions. His show is 90% commercials, he try's to flirt with the new girl Carly and it comes off as creepy and sad and he consistently brags that he got picked up in New Orleans. I wish they would move Culotta and the Prince to his time slot.

If Jimbo really wants to come here, he'll listen.

Sure seems to be the consensus. You can almost tell by Miles' demeanor that he knows - sad that he forced their hand the way he did.

Miles is 90% done. The 10% left is only because he still has a chance to win the SEC and get to the playoffs. Hell, they carried him off the field last year thinking it was his last game. Does anyone really believe that the influential people who wanted him fired last season somehow changed their opinion in 8 months? Even if they did, Miles exhausted his "second chance" by coming out and losing to Wisc due to the same problems/approach that has lost him at least 2 games a year 6 of the last 7 years.

Maybe the quick hook for Harris is proof that "Miles gets it". But hell, he's got no choice. He's in Lou Brown territory. They're going to fire him at the end of the season, so he may as well just win the whole damn thing.

I think the Jimbo ship may have sailed unless he has a down year at FSU. I can't think he will allow his name to be the subject of speculation two years in a row.

Herman will likely be able to write his own check. However, its hard to see a "bigger" program than LSU potentially having a job opening at the end of the season. Notre Dame? Nope; USC? probably not. Michigan? No. Alabama? No. Ohio St.? No. If Herman wants to move to a bigger program than Houston, then LSU would probably only be competing with Texas (maybe), Oklahoma (maybe), and Texas A&M (more likely).

Del Rio has a daughter that lives in NOLA. I think he would have been the LSU coach had Skip chose to wait until the NFL season ended rather than hiring Miles. That said, he's got a young team that looks to be taking steps towards becoming a serious contender. He's only in year 2 with a young QB that might be in the top 5 QBs not named Brees, Brady, Rothlisberger, Rodgers, Newton. The bottom line is that it may be very hard to pull basically an NFL lifer (coaching-wise) away from an organization that could be setting themselves up for a long period of success.

After last year's mishandling of the situation by the boosters and administration, I refuse to get my hopes up about any potential candidates.

Anyway...
