TO each his own. Vegas and Miami are my two favorite albums by them. I realize The Fire of Love is the more "groundbreaking" of the three.

I do not know why this files under post-punk. I see others in the media classify it as such, but I have never understood why.

It's such a broad category by many... I personally wouldn't have classified many of the bands mentioned as such, but I've broadened my perspective when such topics come up on this board...

Sonic Youth were very influential and at the forefront of the art/noise rock scene in the early 80s NYC (along with Pussy Galore, White Zombie, etc.)
