Now I'm not to sure about Lafourche schools, but I feel Terrebonne parish's problem is wayyyyy too many high schools. 7 high schools for a population of right over 100,000 is ridiculous. There definitely is to many schools in Terrebonne, but coaching as a whole in Terrebonne/Lafourche is not very good. I'm not saying there are not good coaches, but as a whole it's not very good when you compare it to other areas of the state. Just look at the last time Terrebonne made the playoffs, they were loaded and played Mandeville team that had nowhere near the talent they did, but they got out coached badly and had to squeak one out.

The poor coaching in the area has alot to do with the low pay for Tbonne/Lafourche. You get both less quality and quantity because the better coaches go to higher paying school districts. Often schools here end up with smaller staffs of younger guys just starting out.
