We own 2
1 is a Z4 coupe, 2008
2 is a 5 series 528i, 2013
Both were bought pre-owned and gone over by the mechanic, BMW, who we have used for years.
Don't care for the roadster but I am 6'5", my wife's car
Is my first BMW and don't think I'll ever purchase anything else
Our maintenance costs have been comparable to other non-BMWs
Find a BMW mechanic you really trust, have him go over it and tell you what to offer
