re: Any reason in particular that Miles is getting ALL of the heat for this?

This team is too talented to play like they did Saturday. It's all in Les
I mean, the defense held Wisconsin to under 350 total yards and forced 3 TOs.
Fournette accounted for about 180 yards on his own.
No egregious special teams errors that we witnessed much of last year.
We were 1 of 8 on 3rd down when Harris had the ball in his hands.
In this game, you play the hand you're dealt, and when you pick your own deck, it really falls back on the head coach, I just wonder what should have been done differently when the quarterback is playing THAT badly.

Yeah, there sure were no shanked punts or kickoffs out of bounds. Oh, wait...

Did you watch the game? While Harris could have def played better, it was a combination of horrible offensive line play and horrible offensive scheme that greatly contributed to that stat. Besides, you can't separate poor QB play and coaching. Not anymore. That shite may fly a couple times, but this is the norm for miles teams.

Ok, I get it. Not everyone understands football. I'll help you out:
They do a REALLY bad job of putting Harris in a position to succeed. See, they recruited a kid who had only ever played in a spread system and whose talents fit a spread system, and have expected him to become a 7 step drop passer. A good example would be Tebow fits perfectly in Meyer's offense but he wouldn't do well in an air raid attack like Mike Leach or Texas Tech.
Couple having to make that completely unnatural adjustment with the fact that the predominant number of passing plays called require lower percentage downfield throws and you have a recipe for disaster...or at least a lack of confidence.
They need to allow BH to gain some confidence and get into the flow of the game/rhythm with some high percentage shorter passes - quick slants, swing outs, TE pops, screens.
But Les can't watch game film and see that.
Instead, what you get is three straight runs to the left to open the game, which if I knew that was coming you can damn sure bet Chryst knew it, then you get a couple low percentage passes and you've got a guy on third and medium/long without any rhythm and he hasn't had a chance to allow the game to slow down for him a bit.

Are you kidding me right now?
We kicked one out of bounds and shanked 3.
I watched games all weekend and never saw one other kickoff out of bounds. But it's the norm for us.

Did you miss the part where we only had 9 men on the field for a punt?
If you did, then you should know...
