Aranda is my guy - he is the next up and comer. Give him his first shot and will be with us for a long time.

Surprised no one has mentioned Matt Rhule at Temple, young guy winning a lot of games with hardly any talent

Almost beat ND, beat Memphis when they were ranked, kept it close against Herman and Houston, has NFL coaching experience

i wouldnt be shocked if rhule got the job. based on how most coaching searches go you rarely get your top choice. lsu will get a guy from the fedora/rhule level.

Herman
Jimbo
Petrino...Once again idc if he is a huge douche, I dont have to live with him, just watch him put up 50 while the D holds to less than 10.

I'm just telling you why not many have posted his name.

Furthermore, while it looks like he's turning Temple around, he's gone 2-10, 6-6, and then 10-4 last season. He's also from Pennsylvania and we don't know if he can recruit down here.

Sure he'd be on the list, somewhere, but not anywhere near the top.

He doesn't care about defense.

Good point. I'd agree with what others said too, on the list probably level below Fedora, etc.

Also, god forbid if Franklin gets fired from Penn State. Rhule would be their first option and he'd probably be on the first plane home.

And Miles knows anything about defense? Get a good coordinator (keep Arranda) and be done with it.

I do not get this argument of him not caring about defense, thats what coordinators are for. See Chavis, Arranda, Pelini, etc.

He feuds with good DCs. Make no mistake, Aranda isn't sticking around with Petrino.

Petrino also doesnt recruit anything but QBs and WRs. His ability to sustain a program long-term is debatable.

Y'all need to start thinking rationally, and start accepting names along the lines of a Larry Fedora.

This is my post from the first page of the thread. First mention of Fedora. Most rational people that have settled down now realize it's a name like this we need to begin to accept. Although, he is a good coach and a guy I wouldn't mind seeing get a shot here. He's done some good things at a "basketball school" and had USM in the top 25. He can also develop QB's and values defense. I would love to have Herman or Jimbaw, but I'm not going to expect one of them. This is going to be an interesting year on and off the field.....

If it's a SHORT list I guess the logical answer would be Nick Saban.

See them play all the time. He has a great offensive mind, they were efficient last year with a pretty meh QB in terms of arm talent. Not to mention he's had to deal with off the field issues (academic scandals). Biggest concern there is Fedora likes UNC and turned down offers last year, so may not be as easy as we'd hope.

Never heard this. He may be content making what he's making, and his family may like it there. Do you know what offers he turned down?
