Finally got our pistols. M&P Shield 9mm for me and Ruger LCP .380 for the wife. I'm in Avoyelles. Anyone know where's the closest place to get our carry and conceal?

It's not something you can just go and pick up

I think there is a place on N. Bolton in Ellic, but I am really not sure if they provide that service.

You made a good choice for a CC pistol but I need to ask - does your wife have any handgun shooting experience? The LCP may be one of the hardest and least fun guns I have ever fired. But they make for a decent reliable concealed piece.

I'm more afraid of someone trying to be a hero, or just accidentally discharging their weapon during the process, and shooting me with one of these pocket pistols than I am if the bad guys.

I haven't ever read a story of this happening before so I don't have that same fear. There have been infinitely more stories of officers accidentally hitting bystanders than concealed carriers doing the same. I would be interested to see if you can even find one story of it happening.

Purse is a bad choice for concealed carry for 2 huge reasons. 1, if someone snatches her purse, you lose your gun and access to it if the threat escalates beyond purse snatching. Also, if the time comes for her to need the gun, digging through a purse is the last thing you want to be doing. I would say buy her a Kahr CM9 if she wants something really small and to use that instead of the .380.
