Like Les said, the motor is fine. A serious overhaul would be bad news for us. I think if we can improve on he execution of just a couple things on offense, then play good defense, we win A LOT of games. That's how this team is built. Let's do it.

Of course it won't. He's set in his ways and won't put the offense in a position to succeed or expand a lead to put a game away.

No excuses this year period. I would love for Miles to ride off in the sunset at LSU but if he trots out the same stuff this year and drops a few games he's got to go. Choctaw and Beefense will be here shortly to defend.

Look, even Guilbeau said "get ready for MOSTLY more of the same" offense. Mostly is key. I'd be ok with MOSTLY more of the same, if there's a little less predictability thrown in by adding a few wrinkles. It will also open up that running game against better defenses.

For GG, that actually wasn't a bad article.

Let's just save this topic for later in the year. Does no good for anyone to get into this conversation this early.

Last year Harris only looked bad against AL and ATM. The defense is where an overhaul was needed. I think Aranda can fix that.

Two keys that are intertwined:

1. Extend drives by converting 3rd downs.
2. Better D-line play.

If you increase TOP, then defense will have less chance to get gassed like they did against Bama and Arky.

Miles will not change until he has a QB that he trusts completely. Mettenberger and Flynn both were fifth year seniors and JR was a once in a lifetime QB talent. Other than them he hasn't had a QB he had faith in to make the offense fun.

That guy is still really bitter after going on the Finebaum show and stating boldly that Miles had a ZERO percent chance of returning. Guy's ego is as big as his head.

Why would he change? He believes in what he learned from Bo Schembechler. He wants to coach like Bo and he wants a team who's style pays homage to Bo. He's been overall very successful at LSU and has made it clear he doesn't want to evolve with college football. This is who Miles is as a coach, its what he knows and is comfortable with.

With 5 and 7 he'd be an idiot to turn the offense over to 6. That's no knock on 6 either.

He just needs to run some more misdirection, sweeps, screens and the offense would be good. Hopefully he'll do that.

Oh jeez. Can the season start already?

Our running game is the best in the business. We will tweak somewhat the passing game. But here is the thing: when teams come prepared to stop the run, they leave themselves susceptible to downfield passing. Safeties up means the secondary is weakest downfield.

I know everyone wants more intermediate passing and more passing to the TEs but those are precisely the routes that a defense bent on stopping the run can still effectively cover.

The 2016 offense will be a repeat of the 2013 offense. Mett went downfield a ton. It will be slightly more diversified than 2015, but the real change will come from execution. Just like the difference between 2012 and 2013 was mainly due to having a seasoned QB execute a lot better.

GG should write something new. Apparently he believes his motor is fine as he continues to write the same drivel over and over. He couldn't write anything new and exciting if he had to.
