Returning a lawn mower to Home Depot

Wondering what are my chances of getting a replacement or refund.
Their policy states that gas powered items can be returned within 30 days with a valid receipt.
It's been less than 30 days and I have a valid receipt
BUT, policy also stated that The Home Depot reserves the right to limit/deny returns.
Anyone ever had to return a mower? This is a small push mower. The first one I bought, I returned the same day because the blade was digging in to the housing making an awful noise the first time I started it.
This time, I cut my yard 3 times with it before it crapped out. Won't start/stay running.
What are my chances?

I dont know why they would deny it...just tell them it doesnt meet your needs.

Clean it well, drain the fuel, and take it back. They will give you a full refund. I bought one from them two months ago. Cut once, didn't like it, packaged it back up and brought it back.

Some places will say you need to contact the manufacturer for warranty repairs, and then you would likely have to send it in.
It would suck to have to send a push mower to the manufacturer.

Ok thanks. Just got back from HD. They exchanged it but said they couldn't give a new recept so the 30 days wont start over. I'll have 6 days left to return it if anything goes wrong. Sounds weird to me but I guess this is pretty standard?

I used one almost a whole summer when it quit. It never ran right out of the box. Full refund, no questions asked. Brought back dirty as hell.

I see returned gas engine item there all the time. I would say your chances are pretty good.

I would imagine they have quite a few "defective"" mowers returned at the end of each mowing season!
