Recon found a pretty disorganized wave and the popcorn nature of the convection hasn't really allowed for any vertical growth. There is very little in the way of 500mb vorticity associated with the wave. Research shows that shallow waves are less likely to develop than deeper waves.

I see a strong cold front coming down from the north this week. I'm guessing it's not at all possible for that reach as far down as Louisiana? Sure would be nice to cool things down at this point in the year and probably push that away.

For the people just following the system the reason it's worrying for Louisiana is it has not shifted anywhere east...the models constantly push it further and further west which is a threat for us. Even without direct impact hits where it hits is everything for us when it comes to receiving the rain that we don't need...

OK so I fly offshore in the morning about 100 miles due south of Daphne AL. I'm supposed to be coming in Wednesday for the game at Lambeau.

We got screwed over by the storms 2 weeks ago and got held over for 4 extra days. That can't happen again...

Can anyone give an estimate of IF it were to come into the Gulf when that might be?

I know these are all just models as of now but I have no clue what yall are talking about.

If there is any chance of me getting fricked over again, I'm getting back on the fricking chopper. I'm not missing this trip to Lambeau.

Wow, I just graduated and got a job in petroleum engineering after cold calling at least 200 companies. I'll be going offshore tomorrow for the first time ever for a week near the chandeleur islands.
