1)Aranda's familiarity with Wisky players and offense or

2)Wisky staff and offensive players being very familiar with Aranda's system?

Such an interesting dynamic to this matchup and the fact it was scheduled years before Aranda ever thought of coming to LSU makes matchup even more unique.

I would think the advantage would go towards Aranda because he has better players to execute with.

The advantage goes to whomever uses the leverage best. The leverage is equal.

Aranda because he has better tools with which to work

I'd say Aranda because he's smarter than everyone else.

There's really no advantage on either side.

I would think the advantages you posted would be even, and talent will decide the game.

Wisconsin players will have an advantage having repped against this defensive style for a few years now, so the players can recognize some things easier.
LSU coaches will have better player scouting reports from Aranda, but Chryst has been calling offenses for so long at Wisconsin, Pitt, and now Wisconsin there might not be much Aranda could bring over schematic-wise that LSU didn't know.

The big plus in LSU's favor is that any Tiger corner could probably have started (on a pure talent basis) over anybody Wisconsin's had at that spot in the last 3 years. The ability to use corners as weapons, comfortably relying on single coverage against a mediocre receiving corp and possibly blitzing is the big key on that side of the ball. If LSU can sit 8 in the box regularly, Wisconsin won't move the ball.

There is no advantage for either team. Had Aranda remained at Wisconsin and Steele at LSU both coaching staffs would have seen enough game film of the other team to know them inside and out and would have been preparing for those tendencies.

Aranda being at LSU means litlle in way of an advantage.

I agree with this. some LSU fans discount Whisky's players abilities (slow, non athletic, white, etc) but they are incorrect. they almost beat us in Houston 2 years ago and they will be fired up on familiar turf with a sizable fan advantage. Wisconsin has the talent to beat us.

however, for them to win, LSU has to "blow it", meaning make mistakes. if we execute well most of the time we will win but they are plenty good enough to take advantage if we have multiple miscues like our offense has been prone to do lately.

(1) How much familiarity does Dave Aranda have with Paul Chryst's offense? One season. The previous two, Aranda spent with Gary Andersen and his transition in recruiting philosophy.

(2) How much familiarity does Paul Chryst have with Dave Aranda's 3-4 defense? One season. The previous three, while at Pittsburgh, Chryst ran a 4-3.

The advantage simply comes from the team that has more talent, which is undoubtedly LSU. That being said, Wisconsin is not short-on-talent, either. As I've stated multiple times, there are only four other programs with more Top-75 picks since 2011 than Wisconsin. The program does an outstanding job developing its players over the course of four- to five-years.

The biggest factor is the 50 degrees. Damn.

Saying "[Wisconsin] will be fired up on familiar turf" is a funny way to phrase your interpretation, but I understand. Thanks.

Yeah I'd say 50 degrees means no heat cramps for LSU which = advantage LSU
