A lot of my friends in their Mid-thirties love Primus, but that's really the only demographic i've heard play/like them. What's the board's thoughts of them?

As for me: Mehhh...

Interesting in their originality, but not something I want to listen to often.

I like them okay.

I like some of Claypool's other projects better. Oysterhead for example.

They nailed the theme to South Park.

I'm in my mid-20's and I love them. I saw them live with Tool back in January and I was disappointed that they didn't play a longer set.

Les Claypool is one of the best slap bassists in music, while Larry LaLonde and Tim Alexander are geniuses in their own right.

I love their avant-garde agglomeration of funk, alternative rock, and metal. Most people prefer Faith No More's combination of similar genres, but I've always favored Primus.

Claypool's "don't-give-a-frick" attitude and awkward sense of humor makes him a very likable character.

Frizzle Fry and Sailing the Seas of Cheese are great albums but are admittedly not easy listens. Like another poster mentioned, I have to be in a particular mood to desire to listen to them. Still, that doesn't mean they are any less good than some of their alternative rock peers. There is just a little more effort required on the part of the listener while taking in such music.

Pretty cool in the 90s. Somehow they turned into a boring jam band now.

I used to love them. Now, I just mostly respect them. John the Fisherman is great.

I like their creativity but I listen to them in small doses.

Been going to Primus shows since '92. One of my all time favorites. Les Claypool is probably my second favorite musician behind Trey. Primus sucks!

You have to acquire a taste for Primus. They sound erratic at first listen, but once you hear everything going on a couple of times it clicks. Most people don't get through half a song though so they have a very small following.

Loved them in my younger days.

Throw em on from time to time.

Thought they played well at the TOOL show this past January

Claypool is the GOAT

How's about a nice, refreshing PORK SODA!

I don't like their wonka album, or whatever it's called now. That being said, I've always liked Pork Soda and Frizzle Fry. I've listened to them for years though.
