I don't know if the scene is being appropriately set. Any of the "fringe" guests, are in my major. Which only has 200 people and we're all in the same building so if I wanted to know who they are, I could extremely easily. There wouldn't be any fighting about who gets to stay and who gets to leave. My judgement in the matters of the tailgate are final. We've literally never kicked anyone out but if someone was being a complete arse then there wouldn't be any kind of dispute from other guests about making them leave and we would be able to find them in class on Monday and basically tell them to cut it out or not be invited again.

There is a much easier way to handle this then. You walk in to class on the first day, stand in the front and make an announcement that you'll be hosting the major's tailgate as usual but you can't foot the entire bill for 200 people. Unless the architecture program at LSU is full of complete assholes I'm guessing you'll have more than enough volunteers step up an offer to help. Word will trickle down and all will be good. Then the Tuesday before the JSU game make another announcement before class to remind everyone the first game is coming up and see where you are. If you need money or supplies just say it. If you don't have enough people willing to help out then you have your answer. You should then just worry about your core group and when the outsiders show up just have a bite of a big nice juicy burger and a cold beer and remind them that the world isn't full of free shite. Problem solved.
