Our tailgates have evolved to go beyond just my friends and I and now we often have others from our major come and join. Because it can get rather large now we've been thinking about supplementing this with $5 wristbands to control who eats and drinks and to recoup some revenue. My feeling is this is technically against LSUs rules but I have another feeling that a lot of people do it anyway. Thoughts?

Jesus christ man, im at LSU with you now, and this whole wristband thing will cause you more headache than just asking the select group of friends with you that are setting it up to pitch in more.

So I have multiple tailgates I always go to and never have had wristbands because its tailgating and south LA, not some snobby ball or Oxford . Had to take a shot when I can, but seriously, im in a fraternity currently and nobody does this too much concern and effort, have my family tailgate I always frequent, law school tailgate, and other long time friends. The point of tailgating is friendship and having a good time, completely understand you are footing the bill for a lot of people you may or may not be close with, but at the end of the day its about having fun with your friends, and even friends of your friends. Trust me when I say, I have seen the wristband system, it causes way more trouble than its worth, and honestly it just comes off as kind of being a d-bag, btw you have every right and completely understand paying for what it seems like every person walking around to drink and eat, but in my experiences very very rarely do just absolute strangers just stop and mooch.

If you do, just remember its all about seeing the Tigers and having a good time, not even trying to blow smoke or put out some bs line.

I would like to reiterate that in a perfect world it would be rocking and free. But the reality is there is no tailgate without the friends of friends paying a cover charge. One day after college and I'm able to afford that, that'll be great. But right now it just has to happen because the other option is no tailgate. And that is not a viable option. Also I take exception to any comparison to us being like Oxford. We are a great group of guys (and ladies) and we get wild on Saturdays. Our proudest signature item of our tailgate is our massive "Geaux to Hell Ole Miss" banner we break out every other year.

You somehow come off as an "entitled" know-it-all who rarely if ever, pays for anything with his OWN money...LOL
