Do police get worker's comp if they're injured on duty? I realize he probably still gets his normal pay but if he worked alot of extra duty or something, does that get covered? Because if not then that's a damn disgrace.

Only 66% of what his salary is and I am sure it wasn't much to begin with.

Nope. Only gets a portion of his salary and that is it.

Most lawyers don't even know that sheriff's deputies are the only employees in Louisiana not required to be covered by our workman's comp laws . The legislature should be ashamed to let the Sheriff's Association get away with that. They pay med bills under health policy . They pay full wages 6 months then half wages 6 months then s. o. l. See Gorton v Ouachita Police Jury. Deputies have no idea they are the least protected workers in Louisiana. Past time for the legislature to correct that travesty.
