I would strongly suggest booking a day trip for fly fishing. I can hook you up with a cool knowledgeable guy if you would like. We went during this time last year and have been wanting to go back ever since the day we left. Take the ghost tour in Asheville but get tickets in advance. It's a night tour. You are going to fall in love;the Biltmore was awesome and the Land Rover experience on the Biltmore grounds was legit

Also don't go through Atl. Go north through Gadsden Al and go right before you get to Knoxville. Very scenic, ride the blue ridge pkwy

Not to piggyback/hijack the thread but definitely interested in the fly fishing and other Asheville activities. My grandparents retired and now live 30 miles NE of Asheville so we are heading their way this weekend . The wife and I (29, no kids) are gonna land in Asheville around 11a on Friday. Plan on doing lunch and a couple brews at Sierra Nevada then wandering around downtown before heading to see the grandparents.

Are there any great spots down town that are a great stop?

Is the biltmore worth spending an entire afternoon when we're only there for 3 days?

And lastly , looking are doing a white water rafting trip Sunday afternoon, but would be open to switching to a fly fishing or hiking trip as well.

Any suggestions would be great, haven't been there since 2009 and Im sure plenty has changed in that time
