Not exactly, it reads more like someone who's trying to convince himself instead of someone else. He even admits that ideally, the profession wouldn't exist. Then he goes off on a tirade of hypotheticals without laws, as if there is no in between and the levels of bureaucracy that we currently have are the only alternative to a wild west. We have the shitty legal industry that we have now because lawyers have dissected every facet of society that they can drain money from while contributing NOTHING.

Then he ends it with some ad hominem. Look if you went to law school to make a bunch of money to support your family and way of life, awesome. You've found a clever way to make a profit, but don't pretend that you contribute to society. Lawyers feed off of society like a tick on a horse.

Ideally, I wouldn't have to take a shite everyday but it's something I have to do.

I don't understand your argument, there's a lot of things about society that aren't great but we have to deal with everyday. No profession is going around handing out lollipops existing only to contribute to society, they are there to make money. What about the clients I've had call my office thanking us for changing their life? Are there a lot of bad apples in the profession yes, are lawyers needed, yes, do they contribute to society, yes. I would say more than a lot of professions.

The problem is most of the time when somebody comes to a lawyer it's because they are having a problem. Thus, people always associate lawyers with bad times in their life, and if the outcome is not 100% what the client expects it is ALWAYS the lawyers fault. "Why did you let me lose custody of my kids?" "It's not may fault I got drunk got in a wreck and got caught with drugs in the car." It's always the lawyers fault for not fixing it
