That's bullshite. I bet there's very few people from any race that wishes they were a different one. Of course I don't want to be black because all of my life experience/family culture revolves around white "norms". Being white is all I know. Why would I wish for something different than what is tied to my identity.

What a dumb question.

Rephrase it then. Do you think being black in this country is better than being white?

I have a fantasy question for you. If all the African Americans in Baton Rouge decided in one day to all move away and to never come back, do you think the high violent crime rate currently plauging the city the would improve? I think you know that the answer would be yes, and drastically. Just look at the violent crime statistics by race for Baton Rouge if you don't believe me. And the majority of this crime is black on black.

Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are trying you say with your questions and sympathize to a very, very small degree, but is "white privilege" really the most concerning issue within the African American community? Improving issues within the African American community should be the main concern. The majority of the country will never take the BLM movement or the excessive whining about white privilege seriously until blacks make more of an effort to fix the issues within their own community.

But let me take a guess, the response from you to my question will probably be something about how what I'm saying is an example of white privilege.

Even then I'm still trying it to my experience and knowledge as a white person. Can I keep my values in tact while being black? Because if so, sign me up. I could gain competitive employment positions based solely off my skin color. Also, because I'd be so outside the "norm" for black culture, I'd be championed and respected much more than I am as a normal, typical white guy. All things considered, I'd move to the suburbs, be the token black guy in successful white crowds, ignore the "Uncle Tom" comments from other black people, and profit off my blackness.

But that's the point isn't it? I don't live in a bubble where I blame everyone else for my lack of success. I don't particiapte in group think and buy into a theory of victimization, when clearly employment laws and violent crime statistics prove otherwise. I can clearly see the opportunity presented right in front if I were black if I only act according to the law, graduate high school and/or college, and learn a profession/trade. If I do those things as a black person, I'm actually valued above white people in society and the job market.
